Two sizes: for newborns and older babies
In our article about the pros and cons of soothers we recommend waiting about one to four weeks before introducing a soother to your baby.
After that, it’s very important to consider your baby’s growth when choosing a pacifier. Our selection differentiates between the youngest infants (0-6 months) and older babies and toddlers (6-36 months).
A baby’s head grows significantly during the first six months. That’s why Nûby offers a specific soother size for this age group. In the wide range, you’ll even find a pacifier that glows in the dark - perfect for easily finding it at night!

After the first six months, a baby’s head growth slows down. Around the second year of life, growth more or less stabilizes. That’s why for the period from 6 to 36 months, it’s best to use soothers in a larger size. The mouth grows and changes as well. For this stage, Nûby also offers pacifiers in various models.

Pediatricians recommend gradually reducing soother use after the second year of life and stopping by the age of three at the latest.
Match the shape to your baby
The shape of the soother greatly determines your baby's comfort. Nowadays, you can choose from soothers in various shapes.
1. Oval shape
Oval-shaped soothers are the classics. Most babies like them because they fit comfortably in the mouth.

2. Cherry shape
A soother shaped like a cherry sounds pretty tasty. A cherry-shaped soother may not give off a cherry flavour, but it is an excellent imitation of the mother's breast. Nûby developed two special cherry-shaped models.
The ‘Round cherry soother with nubs’ has a simple design in pretty pastel colours. The soother is finished with our unique nubs to ease your baby's pain when those pesky teeth come through.

The ‘Natural flex classic cherry soother’ is made of a super flexible material that stretches in a unique way. This makes the soother as stretchy and mobile as a real nipple, giving your baby a truly natural suction sensation. It is the solution to avoid nipple-soother confusion.

3. Orthodontic shape
Soothers with an orthodontic shape follow the shape of your child's mouth. This is very important during baby's teething period. This is because using a soother is delicate.
If you want to guarantee your child healthy tooth growth, it is best to choose an orthodontic soother during the development of the first teeth.

4. All-in-one shape
Besides the oval shape, the cherry shape and the orthodontic shape, Nûby also designed an all-in-one soother. This has a shape that immediately provides exceptionally soft suction comfort. The fact that the design has a 3D handle makes it a cheerful and unique model.

The perfect finish for your soother
The finish of the pacifier itself determines your baby's sucking comfort. A completely smooth finish closely resembles the soft nipple of the mother, providing a natural feel.
Our unique finish with nubs supports your baby during teething. The fact that we want to offer your little one the greatest comfort during this period is proven by our name. Nûby is actually named after the nubs of this model!

The finish with so-called bristles is also ideal for babies developing teeth. Especially when gums are a bit inflamed, the ridged bristles help. They gently massage the areas where the teeth are coming through.
Soothers with ventilation holes in the frame around the nipple allow your baby to breathe more freely.

One-piece soothers
Perhaps they already caught your attention, one-piece soothers. They may look a little strange, but they offer special comfort and make sleeping safer. With other soothers, a handle can sometimes get in the way during the night. Made from soft silicone, our one-piece soothers are flexible and beautifully shaped.
